About Ms. DeVries
My name is Anna DeVries. I will be your student's teacher this year. I am looking forward to getting to know all of the students joining my class this year. I am very proud to be a part of Lincoln Elementary and am extremely happy to be teaching third grade for the fifth year in a row. Previously, I taught first grade and kindergarten at Lincoln. I also have prior experience teaching third and fourth grade for several years in a different school system. This is my thirteenth year in the teaching profession. I have taught all grades from K-5, as well as working various other positions, including a K-2 math and reading specialist. I even have experience in special education, working as a paraprofessional. I earned my master's degree in reading and literacy studies at Western Michigan University in 2016. I completed my bachelor degree at Eastern Michigan University. I earned a major in mathematics and a minor in reading, with a focus on elementary education. I live with my daughter here in South Haven. My daughter graduated from the South Haven High School, and we are an active part of the South Haven community. For fun, I like to ride my bicycle, go kayaking and camping, go to the beach, read books of all kinds, and work on home-improvement projects. I am also a board member of Foundry Hall, a community music organization, and I like to see live music in the area. Gardening is also a passion of mine. I am so happy to have the addition of our pollinator garden here at Lincoln this year. I am looking forward to getting to know you and your student. Please contact me with any questions or concerns. Let me know if there is anything I can do to help you or your child have a more enjoyable and successful third grade year.
